Swiss by name Swiss by nature. Bones Swiss are manufactured in Switzerland, by a small precision bearing engineering company. Hence the price. Don't let the price put you off though. Swiss are made to the highest standards of Swiss enginerring. They are bespoke, designed in conjunction with George Powell and the manufacturer for the perfect fastest and longest lasting skate bearings in the world...EVER. I remember my first set were a hand me down off Alex Moul. He had skated them for over a year and I proceeded to use them for the next four years until the plastic retainers gave in. I could of just replaced the retainers but decided to treat myself to a new set. Maybe I had a lucky pair but the lastability of Bones Swiss makes them a great investment. These dudes set up a comity to rate the tolerance of bearings. Which is basically the gap between two moving parts. (we're talking hair widths and less here) As this gap is so small many factors, such as smoothness of the rolling contact surfaces, ball precision, and material quality are obsolete. So if your a machine gunner in Afghanistan on the back of a snatch land rover, this may effect you. But if your a skateboarder and are crazy about ABEC size then burn your board and buy some rollerblades.
